January 2026 Feature Release: Smart Filtering, Timeline View, Enhanced Export, and More
We're excited to announce our January 2026 feature release—a collection of powerful new tools that make Fast Facts even more capable for legal document analysis and fact-finding.
This release focuses on workflow efficiency and legal professional integration. Whether you're filtering facts to build a timeline, recovering deleted work, or exporting for case preparation, these features streamline your path from document upload to case-ready facts.
What's New
1. AI-Powered Smart Filtering
Intelligently surface the facts that matter most.
Large document extractions are valuable—they ensure you don't miss important evidence. But case preparation requires focus. Our new Smart Filter feature uses AI to help you find what matters:
- Filter by relevance to specific issues
- Surface facts mentioning key parties
- Identify date-specific entries
- Keep full control over what you review
The AI considers mention frequency, relationship density, evidentiary importance, and more to help you focus your review time effectively.
2. Restore Deleted Facts
Never lose your work again.
Every deleted fact is now preserved in your project's history. Made a mistake? Need to bring back something you removed during review?
- View all deleted facts with full context
- See when each fact was removed
- Restore with a single click
- Recover relationships where possible
When adding new facts, Fast Facts even checks if you've previously deleted a matching entry and offers to restore it instead.
3. Timeline View
See your case unfold chronologically.
Fast Facts' AI identifies every date and time reference in your documents. Now you can switch to Timeline View to see facts arranged chronologically:
- Timeline View: Facts organized by date for case chronology
- Standard View: Facts organized by topic and relationship
Toggle between views to understand the sequence of events, then ensure your case preparation captures the most significant moments.
4. Enhanced Export Options
Professional formats for every legal workflow.
Our export system now offers:
Formatted Reports
- Customizable section organization
- Per-fact citation controls
- Clean formatting for court filings and client reports
Timeline Export
- Chronological fact arrangement
- Date-grouped organization
- Perfect for case chronologies and trial preparation
Improved Document Export
- Single or double column layouts
- Configurable fonts, headers, and spacing
- Court-ready output formatting
5. Improved Document Handling
Better support for complex legal documents.
Many legal filings have complex pagination, exhibits, and attachments. Fast Facts now handles this automatically:
- Specify document sections during upload
- Facts maintain proper page references
- Exhibit references preserved correctly
- Exports maintain accurate citations throughout
No more manual page number conversion or citation headaches.
